About

I’ve been shooting since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until the last few years that I rediscovered my love of photography. I switched over to digital rather quickly, abandoning my Nikon FM3 for a simple Canon point and shoot. I outgrew that camera – the latency drove me crazy! – and switched to a Nikon D200. The world of photography opened up for me after that, and I’ve since upgraded to the D600.

“Ghost” – award of merit, Maryland Federation of Art, 2011.

I made this site because I have a notoriously bad memory. It’s one of the reasons I’m such an avid photography – without the photo reminders, I’d forget the stories. Additionally, whenever I travel somewhere new, the first thing I search for is “places to photograph” in said location. I’ve been fortunate to travel quite a bit, and if any of my stories help budding photographers, all the better.

This site, principally through the galleries at right but also through the photo-blog, offers a glimpse of my work. I hope you enjoy what you see. Should you wish to see more or have questions, feel free to contact me at info@emilkepko.com. I’m always happy to hear from you!
