Lowell is a wonderfully preserved testament to the industrial revolution in New England. I spent only 2 hours this weekend visiting the Boott Cotton Mills Museum, and I definitely need to return to Lowell for a longer photographic visit. The highlight of the cotton mill was the factory floor, where working power looms weave cotton thread into fabric.
As typical with my visits to these types of National Parks, my photos inadequately capture the feel of the place (my photos from Saugus Iron Works still disappoint). I’m not sure what I’m missing… but as with all photography, I’ll just have to practice more.
