I recently attended a conference in Pismo Beach, CA, and afterwards I wandered down the cliffs to the ocean to take some pictures, not really expecting much. Instead I found some surfers quickly jumping into the water, clearly rushing to catch some waves after work. Most of the surfers were to the left, the setting sun to right, so as they made their cuts they had nice light on them. To my right was another surfer, and I kept trying to get him backlit with the sunset, but I never managed to quite make it work. The pic here is probably my best attempt.
