I like birds. I don’t really know the appeal, although what’s not to love? Ducks used to be my favorite, but I’m becoming more partial to pelicans every day. While in Chile I saw a large and unruly gathering of pelicans and seagulls enjoying fish remains a fisherman had dropped in the ocean. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and the pelicans cooperated. I posted a few pictures — I have dozens — of the pelicans gulping (whole!) the fish remains. Quite the spectacle.Â
