It’s not quite the Big Leagues, but I have a photo published in this month’s National Geographic Traveler. It’s about the size of a postage stamp, a bit dark, and if you blink you’d miss it… But it’s there!
An editor from NatGeo Traveler found the photo while looking around Flickr: another reminder of the importance of tagging and uploading.
I had blogged about the photo in a post last year. Even at the time I knew it was a nice shot (even if it did take some luck). One of the most difficult learning curves for me has been identifying good shots from average. That NatGeo picked out a photo I had self-identified is a great confidence boost. Now if I can just get one into National Geographic itself…
